In Ballarat around 167 young people aged 10-19 years are homeless and 99 are at risk of homelessness. In the 20–29 year age group, 327 are homeless and 258 at risk of homelessness. Sadly, food insecurity is something every one of these young people experience daily.

In recognition of Youth Homelessness Matters Day, CHHA partnered with three community-minded local businesses, Homeground Café, Our Kitchen Social Café, and The Salty Sparrow Café, to bring a pay-it-forward option to their customers from Monday 14th to Thursday 17th April.

THANK YOU TO THESE WONDERFUL BALLARAT CAFES AND THEIR PATRONS!

A total of $1,081.50 was donated by patrons across the three cafes:

·       Homeground $374

·       Our Kitchen Social Café $160

·       Salty Sparrow $647.50.

A further $500 in toastie vouchers (50 vouchers) was donated by the proprietor of Salty Sparrow.
