In support of raising awareness of homelessness during Homelessness Week, CHHA will again be encouraging local primary schools from the Central Highlands to participate in a Free Dress Day and each child to donate a can of food for a local community charity.

Students from local school participating in the 2024 Free Dress & Can Drive, displaying the cans they collected for local emergency relief agencies to distribute to people and families in need.

Homelessness information will be provided to the schools for inclusion the school's newsletters and for discussion in class, and resource books Charlie’s Storey and Uncle Willie and the Soup Kitchen will be provided for the library.

With local primary schools signing up to participate again this year we hope the event will be a huge success with many cans being donated. A BIG THANK YOU to all the wonderful students, parents and teachers who will participate and make a difference for someone who needs help.

If your school would like to participate in this event, please contact us at: michelle.twigger@vt.uniting.org
